Orchard Cottage is a lovely Scottish Tourist Board 3 Star rated holiday home in Forfar, in the county of Angus.

It is centrally located to hills, glens, Glamis Castle and within driving distance of Perth and Aberdeen (A90), and for the golf enthusiast, Carnoustie and St. Andrews. Forfar itself has a very good golf course where visitors are welcome.

Forfar is located on the east coast, within the valley of Strathmore, and has a population of 13,000 people.

There is a variety of cuisine in the town with European, Turkish, Indian and Chinese restaurants.

There is a swimming pool, library, museum and sports centre all within easy walking distance of the cottage.

Forfar Loch is on the door step, has a circumference of three miles, and for adults, children and dogs is a very safe walk, with traffic being prohibited. Swans, herons and otters are only but a few of the wildlife inhabitants.

Glamis Castle, only five miles away, is open to the public with tours running from Spring to the 31st December. The castle is the childhood home of the late Queen Mother, whose father was the 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne. Princess Margaret was born in the castle in 1930. The present Earl (Michael Bowes Lyon) is the 18th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and resides in the east wing of the castle.

The cottage has one bedroom with Kingsize bed and three single beds in the second bedroom.

The newly refurbished bathroom has large quadrant shower, vanity unit, toilet and bidet, also with shaver unit.

There is also a cloakroom with seperate toilet.

The kitchen incorporates:

• dishwasher
• microwave
• large fridge/freezer
• oven
• washer/drier with external drying space
• hairdryer available

Cleanliness in the cottage is of a very high standard and a seperate dining room easily seats five people.

There is private parking for three cars, and outside seating within patio area.

Bedlinen and towels are included, but tariff does not include gas and electricity usage.

A 10% deposit is requested on booking with the remainder to be paid upon arrival. Weekly or short stays available. This is a non-smoking facility. Children are most welcome and stay at a reduced rate.
